Active Mom Fitness

Are you a new mom that is ready to begin exercise? Is your baby slightly older, but you haven't had the time or energy to focus on your fitness yet? The Stronger After Pregnancy program is an 8-week program that will take you through a safe progression in building your strength and fitness. With other moms you will focus on:

  • Posture and body alignment
  • Stretching and range of motion
  • Total body muscle strength and endurance
  • Cardiovascular endurance
  • Balance
  • Relaxation
  • Breathing
  • Core and pelvic floor reconditioning

Active Mom Fitness supports moms and moms-to-be through personal training, group fitness programs, online coaching, and exercise consulations.

Adults & Children in Trust (A.C.T.) - Classes

Adults and Children in Trust (A.C.T.), located on the 11-acre oasis of the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine campus on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, is an education center that provides year-round affordable educational and recreational programs for infants, children, and teens from ages 6 months through 14 years. A.C.T. provides one-to-one adult-toddler classes from age 9 months, an indoor PlayStation in winter for children 6 months to 5 years old, morning and afternoon nursery classes, a full-time preschool, an after-school program for ages 5-12, holiday camps, summer camps, and party services.

In the after-school program, children in K-5th grade can continue their day with a diverse community of new and familiar friends. Advanced Spanish Institute

Advanced Spanish Institute will help your child to read, write, and speak Spanish with fluency. The sequential and comprehensive full-immersion program prepares children in grades K to 12 to use the language in real-life scenarios and gives them a head start for college and their adult life. 

Besides developing a strong foundation in the language, students have the opportunity to compete with other Spanish learners throughout the US and in Spain by taking the National Spanish Exam, the DELE, and/or the Advance Placement Exam (AP). 

Classes are taught by a native, certified teacher who has many years teaching Spanish. The lessons integrate games, songs, books, articles, movies, and any other material useful for world language acquisition.

Bard Graduate Center - Fiber Arts Workshops for Kids and Families

This summer, Bard Graduate Center has partnered with Textile Arts Center to run hands-on fiber arts workshops for kids and families. The workshops respond to two exhibitions, Fabricating Power with Balinese Textiles and The Codex and Crafts in Late Antiquity.

Weaving Beaded Jewelry​
In this workshop, led by TAC teaching artists, students will learn how to weave with beads while creating a piece of jewelry based on their design (bracelet, necklace pendant, or keychain).

Woven Wall Hangings
In this workshop, led by TAC teaching artists, students will be introduced to the basics of weaving on a frame loom and different tapestry weaving techniques and materials while creating a woven wall hanging based on their design.

Workshops are suitable for kids ages 5-12. All materials are provided. Textile Arts Center (TAC) is a NYC-based resource facility dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of textiles through creative educational programs.

Flip the Switch—This 1.5-hour workshop will teach your child how to manage frustration and anger. The interactive workshop will help your child identify triggers and thought patterns and learn productive ways to manage feelings of frustration and anger.

Bracy's Music Together

Bracy's Music Together is a Bronx-based Music Together family center offering parent-child music and movement classes to children 0-5 years old. Make music an exciting part of your child's life! Classes meet for 45 minutes once per week for 10 weeks in the fall, winter, spring, and summer. Mommies and daddies are welcome to attend class with their child.
