Hooray, it's May, and there is so much to do! As a born and raised Jamaica Plain kid, I would be remiss if I did not urge you to check out one of the best events of the month: a festival/parade/dance party that encourages everyone to get outside and wake up the Earth [editor's note: Wake Up the Earth has been postponed due to weather until May 13th]. Speaking of festivals, we've got all kinds this weekend, from tulips to right whales to music, art, and love, and, of course, May the 4th. Don't forget the annual MayFair in Harvard Square with loads of entertainment, food, and family fun all day long.
What else is going on? A sampling: the infamous Walk for Hunger, explore the arts in Somerville, celebrate Cinco de Mayo all weekend at the Lawn on D, and even a bonding opportunity involving yoga and cupcakes.
