New Water Playground Coming to Flushing Meadows Corona Park

Good news for Queens families and anyone who visits the borough's biggest greenspace: Flushing Meadows Corona Park is getting a seriously face-lift that includes new water play areas for kids to cool down on a hot summer day.

As part of a master plan developed by the Parks Department, the three fountains built for the 1939 and 1964 World's Fair are getting a major update, including spray jets and a mist garden. The revamp plans also include fresh landscaping and more places to relax around the park.

The Easter Bunny, in the weeks leading up to Easter (on April 1 this year), keeps as busy as Santa in December. We’ve tracked down some of the places in the Boston area where kids can hop on in, dressed in their Easter finest, to meet the Easter Bunny and get their pictures taken—and maybe even play some games or share a meal with him. Depending on the activity, only professional photographers may be permitted to take pictures, but be sure to bring your camera for great photo ops just in case!

There's more early springtime fun to be had in our March GoList. And for more Easter activities, stay tuned for our egg hunt finder, coming out next week!

Hop Aboard the Easter Bunny Express: Train Rides for Kids Near Philly

Spring is in the air, and many of our scenic railroads are celebrating the season with Easter excursions. Families are invited to get outside after a long winter to enjoy a trip through the countryside with Peter Cottontail himself! We have rounded up several Easter-themed trains that are running special events for kids in the Delaware Valley.

Some of these trains include an Easter Egg hunt at the halfway stop. It is helpful to check whether the railroad provides a photographer and charges for a picture with the Bunny or if you can bring your own camera.

These Easter Bunny Trains can be the start of a great family tradition to celebrate the Easter holiday and to welcome Spring!  Be sure to check our calendar for more fun spring events.

Easter Egg Hunts for Kids in New York City 2018

Easter Sunday is April 1 this year—no joke! It's just a hop, skip, and a jump away. One of the best ways to celebrate with kids is to attend one of NYC's treat-filled egg hunts. Most are outdoors in playgrounds and parks, zoos, and gardens, but a few are indoors at museums and other cultural spots. Many offer additional spring fun, including seasonal crafts, face painting, and live entertainment.

Remember, Easter egg hunts in NYC are extremely popular so arrive early and expect hordes. If you dislike crowds, avoid the free hunts and opt for those that carry a small fee as they usually cap the number of participants. Or get your photo op with the Easter Bunny in ahead of time at these brunches.
