The NYC summer just got a little sweeter with the news that Domino Park on Williamsburg’s waterfront will be open to the public on Sunday, June 10.

With a sugar-factory-inspired playground, kid-friendly water feature, open lawn, urban beach, taqueria from Danny Meyer, and so much more, we suspect this new Brooklyn park is about to become one of the top fun things to do with kids this season.

Summer vacation may be staring you in the face, but there's no need to panic—several camps in and around New Jersey still have space. As of this publish date, all of the camps listed below are actually open for enrollment.

If you haven't spent a minute thinking about summer camp this year, there's no need to panic. There are Long Island summer camp programs that have spaces available. Of course, if you've been too busy to book a camp for your kids, you might not have time to call around now. That's why we did the work for you. On the hunt for free things to do with kids in New York City this summer? Starting June 9, Brooklyn Bridge Park hosts a public art exhibition that celebrates an iconic New York City street food, with a reimagined VW bus serving FREE hot dogs every weekend.

Finding an indoor family-friendly activity to beat the heat in Houston doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. Bowling is the perfect choice for families with kids of all ages who want to enjoy a fun sport in a cool, air-conditioned atmosphere. Little ones can use bumpers to keep gutter balls at bay, while older kids can get a little more competitive with each other and their parents. Some bowling alleys even offer tasty food options and arcade games to keep the good times rolling and create a memorable experience for the entire family. 

When it comes to sunny day activities, a playground trip tops the list. Essex County kids now have two new great options, thanks to the recently renovated playgrounds in Verona Park in Verona and Grover Cleveland Park in Caldwell.

Music-loving teens in New York City are in luck. All the big musicians come through the city, and there are plenty of quirky, off-the-radar music venues, too.

Yet, not everything is open to the under-18 crowd. Many shows, especially if held at a bar, and a number of clubs, ban those under the legal drinking age of 21. Luckily, there are a handful of places that open up their doors to teens for dancing, concerts, and club nights, so NYC teenagers don't have to miss a beat.

You've signed your last permission slip, figured out teacher's gifts, and even fished the flip-flops out from the dark reaches of the closet.
