The Cradle of Aviation is “de-lighted” to offer an in-person STEM camp called Lighten Up for young scientists ages 9-12.

Campers will explore the properties of light through experiments, games, and projects designed to “enlighten” their minds—just “watt” they need to end the summer with a big bang. The 5-day camp will take place August 10-14 from 10am-12pm each day.

Capacity is limited due to physical distancing requirements. All staff and campers are required to follow CDC, state, and local health guidelines. The health and safety of the museum's campers, visitors, and staff is the museum's top priority.

Creative Theatre (ages 11-16): Explore acting for stage and screen, develop original ideas and instincts through improv, and gain appreciation for text and stage speaking through study of Shakespeare and classical theatre.

Musical Theatre (ages 11-16): This full-day workshop sharpens skills in singing, acting, and dance and includes a day focused entirely on audition preparation.

Purchase College provides unique and fun opportunities for students to spend the summer exploring the visual, performing, and digital arts guided by experienced instructors and practicing artists. 

Youth programs for grades 3-8 encourage exploration of a variety of artistic genres—from creative writing, filmmaking, and photography to acting and creating epic virtual reality adventures.
