Fashion Squad School

Welcome to the fashion journey. Let your kids dive into the world of fashion design with Project Runway alum Layana Aguilar and her team at The Fashion Squad School.

As a graduate of FIT, Aguilar has structured unique classes that not only introduce the basics of sewing, but mimic the real-life experience of fashion design. From a sketch to the final runway show, young fashionistas and fashionistos will bring their wildest ideas to life. Offerings include after-school classes, birthday parties, camps, Kids' Spa, workshops and more.

The Fashion Design After School Program:

At The Fashion Squad School, each student is free to be who they want to be and create what they want to create. Students ages 5 and up explore the fashion design world as they learn fashion illustration, choosing fabrics, sewing real clothes or accessories they can wear proudly, styling, modeling their creations, and presenting them on the runway. Every 8 or more weeks, students work on a new outfit for each fashion cycle. At the end of each cycle, they will present their creations during the school's Fashion Week shows. Family and friends will be invited to watch the students showcase their designs on the runway. Pick-up from most schools in the neighborhood is available for groups of 4 or more students from the same school (PS 234, PS 89, PS 150, Spruce St., and Portfolio School).

Anana Prana

Anana Prana's aim is to teach creativity and self-regulation to children in a fun, non-judgemental environment where they collaborate rather than compete and where grades are not everything. The focus of the program is on children's creative, artistic, and social-emotional development rather than concepts and techniques.

Anana Prana's art classes are fun and individualized. Some of the media used in class are drawing, painting, print-making, and ceramics. The yoga classes for children are based on the "Kidding Around Yoga" (KAY) method, which includes storytelling, dancing, meditation, and games. It is a fun way to learn the poses and how to incorporate breath to movement.
