Weekend Fun for NYC Kids: Children's Carnival, Easter Egg Hunts, Little League, Pterosaurs at AMNH, Bello Mania April 5-6

The first weekend of April brings all kinds of spring fun including the first big outdoor festivals and Easter egg hunts of the season. Head to the Queens County Farm Museum for its annual Children's Carnival, hunt for plastic eggs at Brooklyn Plantology or celebrate Little League Opening Day with a parade in Prospect Park.

There's some great family culture on tap this weekend, too. Introduce the kids to cutting-edge contemporary art at the Whitney Biennial Family Party, learn all about pterosaurs at the American Museum of Natural History's new hands-on exhibit or catch the wacky acrobatic antics of Bello the Clown at the New Victory Theater.

These are just a few of the great things going on this weekend. All of our best bets are below. You can find additional options in our Spring Fun Guide and our Event Calendar. And if you're looking to plan out your entire month, be sure to check out the latest edition of our NYC Go List, which highlights the absolute best things to do with kids throughout April.
