Mostly Free and Fun Things To Do In CT With Kids This Weekend April 5-6: Baseball, Kites, and Easter Eggs

The jig is up! My kids spotted the chocolate Easter bunnies on display in the grocery store last weekend, and now every day begins with a plaintive request, "Do we get to look for eggs today?"

Fortunately, Easter season kicks off properly this weekend with some of our favorite hunts. Be sure to check our guide to Easter Egg Hunts in Fairfield County and around Litchfield County.

As you plan for the month ahead--including that week of spring break coming up soon--take a peek at our Go List, a collection of our favorite events coming up throughout Connecticut during April.

Subscribe to our weekly newsletter and be sure to get the weekend round up every Thursday in your inbox. Don't forget to follow us on Twitter and Pinterest in order to get updates on events, contests and free giveaways. Our event calendar is updated constantly with the best activities around the state.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Weekend Fun for NYC Kids: Children's Carnival, Easter Egg Hunts, Little League, Pterosaurs at AMNH, Bello Mania April 5-6

The first weekend of April brings all kinds of spring fun including the first big outdoor festivals and Easter egg hunts of the season. Head to the Queens County Farm Museum for its annual Children's Carnival, hunt for plastic eggs at Brooklyn Plantology or celebrate Little League Opening Day with a parade in Prospect Park.

There's some great family culture on tap this weekend, too. Introduce the kids to cutting-edge contemporary art at the Whitney Biennial Family Party, learn all about pterosaurs at the American Museum of Natural History's new hands-on exhibit or catch the wacky acrobatic antics of Bello the Clown at the New Victory Theater.

These are just a few of the great things going on this weekend. All of our best bets are below. You can find additional options in our Spring Fun Guide and our Event Calendar. And if you're looking to plan out your entire month, be sure to check out the latest edition of our NYC Go List, which highlights the absolute best things to do with kids throughout April.

Let kids build some fun of their own one brick at a time at one of these Long Island's play places that specializes in Lego fun.

Kids of all ages get a chance to design and create their own masterpieces in a variety of classes, and there's also the chance to hold birthday parties and special events at certain locations. Also, check your local library listings for drop in clubs and open builds!
