This Week: Skiing in New Hampshire & Vermont, Warm Winter Day Trips, Date Night Child Care, Awesome Weekend Events for NYC Kids

All of our bloggers have been so busy enjoying February break with their kids this week, we've barely had time to write! A few went skiing in Vermont and New Hampshire. Others are celebrating Lunar New Year. And my family and I finally got around to seeing the Paddington and SpongeBob movies, and Cambuyón at the New Victory Theater. We hope your family has been having as much fun as we have.

Since winter refuses to let go, the last few days of break are a great time for a warm getaway like an indoor water park or a food factory tour. Or embrace the season by going skiing, snow tubing or ice-skating—remember, spring reportedly starts in four weeks so there's not much time left for winter sports.

Here's what else we covered on the NYC site this week:

Best Things To Do This Weekend with LA Kids: Engineers, Boats, & Lunar New Year, February 21-22

For a short month, February sure manages to pack it in. No one trick pony, February's celebrations run the gamut. Case in point: this weekend we honor Black History Month, celebrate Lunar New Year all around town, sing the praises of engineers, and even give a nod to the boating life.

I suppose a short month is a good thing, if you're snowed in or stuck in an ice hut. None of which is true here; hello beach, how about some park time, see ya in the gardens. We savor our days here, exploring our neighborhoods and all they have to offer.  Be sure to check out our latest guide for Los Feliz (notice how that translates to "the happy"?).

So pardon us while we dance, groove, and party through every last bit of February. If we can make 28 days this fun, imagine what we can do with 31!

Weekend Fun for Philly Kids Feb 21-22: Chinese New Year, Birthday Celebrations and Indoor Play

This weekend has much in store for Philly families. There are a multitude of Chinese New Year's festivities. The Please Touch Museum, Elmwood Park Zoo and Independence Seaport Museum all are ready to celebrate The Year of the Goat.

Additional celebrations going on this weekend honor George Washington's 283rd Birthday at Washington Crossing Historic Park and Horace Pippin's 127th birthday at the African American Museum in Philadelphia. Children can learn about these great men and their contributions to our country.

Typically these winter months mean indoor play. But that doesn't mean it has to be boring. FunFieldz Cabin Fever Cure provides an outlet for youngsters to burn off pent up energy. Or visit our Indoor Play directory featuring Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.

Weekend Fun for Boston Kids - Flapjack Fling, MFA Lunar New Year Open House & More, Feb 21-22

After weeks of being snowed in, this weekend offers the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy some of the activities from our February GoList. Unfortunately, the February Flapjack Fling & Sugaring Tours in Ipswich and Winter Wonderland Cruise to Peddock's Island in Boston Harbor have been canceled due to weather, but for some snow tubing right in the city, take the kids to the Slope Fest at the Lawn on D in South Boston. If the great outdoors is too cold and snowy for your tastes, the Lunar New Year Open House at the MFA in Boston is a great indoor option.

In performances this weekend, families have their pick between Pinkalicious: The Musical, a Vanessa Trien & the Jumping Monkeys concert, or the Dreamtime: Tales from Down Under puppet show. The Wiz and Frozen on Ice are two other good choices for families.
