Weekend Fun for NYC Kids: Icky Fest, Special Mommy Poppins Event at Symphony Space, Recycle Your Tree at MulchFest January 10-11
Submitted by Stephanie Ogozalek on

Don't let the frigid temperatures get you down—there are lots of fun indoor activities for families this weekend. Get messy at the Brooklyn Children's Museum's Icky Fest, celebrate Gaelic culture at the Children's Museum of the Arts' Irish Fest or meet a live wolf at the American Museum of Natural History.
We are especially excited about the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's eye-popping show Stella, Queen of the Snow at Symphony Space since we're hosting Saturday's 2pm performance! Mommy Poppins readers enjoy an exclusive preshow activity and save 35% on tickets. Also this weekend: You can recycle your Christmas tree at MulchFest and enter the Parks Department's online lottery for FREE indoor swimming lessons for kids.
These are just a few of the great things going on this weekend. All of our best bets are below. You can find more options in our Event Calendar and Winter Fun Guide.
