Where to Donate Clothes, Toys, and More in NYC

Multiple charities in NYC allow families to donate clothes and toys

Spring cleaning always has me looking for places to donate clothes, toys, and other goods in NYC. With two adults and three kids in my family's typically small NYC apartment, all the stuff that floods our home stresses me out! That's why this is my favorite time of year to donate my kids' gently (or sometimes never!) used clothes, toys, books, and other items. It allows us to free up some space, support worthy charities, and get the whole family in a giving mindset.

We've gathered details on several organizations where you can donate clothes in NYC. Be sure to contact the charities directly to confirm what they accept and how best to drop off.

Now that you've reclaimed some closet space, take a peek at our guides to the best baby stores in NYC and the coolest vintage and thrift shops for teens to find the next size up, no matter your kids' ages!

Exploring the Children's Museum of the East End with Kids

Reel in a big one at the Children's Museum of the East End's fishing spot.

Looking for something to do with kids in the Hamptons? The Children's Museum of the East End, or CMEE, is one of Long Island's top museums for children and should be on every parent's bucket list.

This interactive museum packs a lot into its square footage, with children's activities around every corner. On a recent visit, my two kids had a blast with the interactive exhibits, running around the play areas, and putting on a show with the puppet theater. Check out our guide below for all the information you'll need for your upcoming visit.

Before you plan your next outing, take a look at our Museums and Art Guide for Long Island Kids, which includes our story on Long Island's top museums for kids.

Best Outdoor Water Parks in Atlanta for Family Fun

Outdoor water parks in Atlanta are a must-do to escape the brutal summer heat. Whether thrill-seekers prefer the more intense water park slides or younger/more cautious kiddos choose a calming lazy river ride, there is the perfect aquatic attraction for everyone. Atlanta has big water parks as well as county and city-run aquatic centers so we've included them all.

Before heading out to these Atlanta outdoor water parks, remember to load up on sunscreen and UV swimwear. Diaper-aged children must wear appropriate swim diapers in addition to swimwear. (If you forget to pack swim diapers, many water parks sell these at gift shops.)
