Long Island Kids' Activities July 12 & 13: The (Free) Funny Man Show, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella & More Fireworks

A free weekly Eco Junior Program starts this weekend to get your little explorers up close and personal with nature. Also free is The Funny Man Show, being performed at The Caumsett Foundation.

Free Summer Children's Entertainment in Suffolk County

Not all summer entertainment for children has to come with a hefty price tag. In fact, several shows across Suffolk County on Long Island are being offered for free. We've rounded up those local concerts--now all parents need to do is grab a lawn chair or picnic blanket and get ready to shimmy, shake and smile with the little ones!

If you can get enough free entertainment for your kiddies, cross the border and view our Nassau County version. Looking for more cool things to do together? Check out our Summer Fun Guide of the Best Things to Do With Long Island Kids.

At night, watch the sky light up with fireworks at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow or watch a movie under the stars in Long Beach.

6 Sweet Ice Cream Parlors & Shops in the Hamptons & North Fork

Think about summer and ice cream immediately comes to mind. Sure it's messy: the ice cream melts quickly, creating sticky little hands and the sugary goo inevitably gets everywhere. But just one lick of these homemade sweet treats makes it all worth it--even the calories! So we've rounded up some of the best ice cream parlors and shops on the East End of Long Island. And for more things to do in the area, take a peek at our Hamptons and North Fork Family Guide.

From musical theater to scene study and stage direction, these programs help give your child the tools to help transform into various characters on stage or screen. And be sure to check out our Summer Fun Guide for other ideas to keep your kids engaged, energized and enthusiastic this summer.

Long Island Kids' Activities June 7, 8: Strawberry Fair, Live Theater, Family Sundays at the Museum & More

There are tons of options for some quality family time this weekend! Benner's Farm in St. James is hosting their annual Strawberry Fair on Saturday, with succulent strawberry dishes and good old fashioned games. Or you can head indoors to see a show in Northport (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) or at the Long Island Children's Museum in Garden City (Go, Dog, Go).

For those looking to get in touch with their inner Picasso, there is Family Sundays at the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn. The Museum hosts a walk-through exhibition and hands-on activities for the whole gang. The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, so you can also just enjoy taking a stroll around the grounds.
