From Mother's Day to Memorial Day, we've rounded up fun things to do in New Jersey all month long!

The Garden State is in full bloom this May, and our calendar is loaded with springtime fun. As warmer weather arrives, it's time to get outdoors and soak in the sun and sights at festivals like Wildwoods International Kite Festival and Lincroft's Creative Arts & Music Festival. Get a taste of almost-summer at festivities with rides and games, including the six-day St. Mary of the Lakes Carnival.

May is so jam-packed, it would be easy to miss some stellar happenings, but we're rounding up all our top picks for NYC families below. Cinco de Mayo Events in Chicago for Kids

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and Mexican-American heritage in the United States at one of these Chicago events for kids. Parks, restaurants, malls, and more are putting on events for kids to get them involved in the fiesta. We've rounded up nine in the city and suburbs. One thing to note is that the annual Cinco de Mayo Parade in Pilsen has been cancelled this year. Please check each organizer's website before heading out to the event to make sure there are no changes.

The Nassau County Museum of Art houses an excellent collection of art from the 1800s and 1900s on a pretty wooded preserve.

A family visit to the Nassau County Museum of Art on Long Island is a creative way to inspire a love of art, architecture, and nature in kids of all ages. Art-loving kids and their families will enjoy touring the stunning, historic art museum and seeing the exhibits on display. My kids were also excited to see the incredible outdoor space as we walked the short distance to the museum building from the parking lot. 

From vibrant paintings to famous photography to a breathtaking outdoor sculpture garden, this museum offers kids an up-close and personal immersion into different types of art. The museum also boasts a colorful art and education center on site with classes for adults, kids, and special art-themed family events. My kids love creating art and exploring new places, so they were excited to venture out to this art-inspired experience for the afternoon.

Edelman Fossil Park: What to Know About Visiting South Jersey's New Dinosaur Museum

Edelman Fossil Park has life-size replicas of some of your favorite dinosaurs and sea creatures.

Rowan University's much-anticipated Edelman Fossil Park & Museum is officially open in Mantua, and it is well worth a visit. Perfect for dinosaur lovers of all ages, this spot is filled with cutting-edge exhibits that give visitors a unique glimpse into the Cretaceous period, when these reptilian giants ruled the earth.

With the mission of helping people discover the past and protect the future, museum visitors can see more than 100,000 fossils from 100 different species, plus walk by life-like dinosaur models. On a recent visit, my daughter especially enjoyed the huge dinosaur replicas, and we're looking forward to coming back for a fossil dig.
