Registration is now open for all YMCA Summer Day Camps at dozens of convenient locations throughout all five boroughs. There is a camp for every child, including traditional camp and specialty camps offering everything from sports to STEAM. Swimming is available at most camps, and the staff works with each camper to strengthen their swimming ability during their time at camp.

Gasworks NYC - Summer Clay Camps

Gasworks NYC offers immersive weeklong clay camps for kids and teens. Students will learn wheel throwing and hand building techniques through a structured and tactile exploration of clay. Each day will include 1:1 instruction, outdoor time at the park, and snack breaks. Students will complete the following projects: ice cream bowls/spoons, wheel-thrown plates, bird houses, fruit/berry bowls, baskets, and sculptures.

At Bach To Rock's camps, kids ages 7 and up can have fun playing and singing the music of today, learn music fundamentals, or develop DJ skills in the DJ lab. Make new friends while you rock out! All equipment is onsite. No experience is necessary. B2R's unique approach makes it possible for students with no previous musical training to be rocking out with a band in a matter of hours.

Rock Band and Glee Camps are designed for students of all levels and taught by real musicians using the unique B2R method, which will have students playing and singing full songs in no time. Students take home a CD recorded in the professional recording studio and perform for family and friends on Friday.

If your child loves music and technology, DJ is the camp for them. Students get hands-on experience while learning the fundamentals of mixing songs, scratching sounds, and DJ music theory. Learning from world class DJ instructors, students work on individual state-of-the-art DJ workstations.

Keys To Success - Music Success Camp

Music Success Camp is a summer camp that gives campers (ages 6-14) the experience of playing in a music ensemble and performing for friends and family at the Camp Concert. Ensembles include Rock Band, Piano Ensemble, and the Broadway Vocal Ensemble. Campers learn how to play and work together in the ensembles while also receiving private lessons and classes that enrich their musical knowledge and abilities. These experiences include You’re The Producer, Learn Your Musical Influences, Morning Music Circles, Create Your Concert Promotion, and plenty of recreation time. With activities like these, campers will experience a fun-filled week of musical enrichment and make life-long memories.

The Paint Place - Camp

The Paint Place offers weekly summer art camp with activities including painting, drawing, working with multimedia, a bit of art history, and even a few park visits to sketch outside. Kids will learn a lot about art and also enjoy the opportunity to explore their artistic talents in many ways. Camp runs Monday through Thursday, 10 AM-2 PM.

Noel Pointer Foundation - Summer Strings Program

The Noel Pointer Foundation offers music enrichment and instruction during the month of July for kids and teens ages 4 to 16 of all skill levels. Choose from violin, viola, cello, bass, piano and guitar.

Each week, students work with their ensemble groups on recital pieces based on their skill level Monday through Thursday, attend a master's class Thursday afternoon, and go on a field trip on Friday. The program culminates in a final recital (held on August 3, 2018) where students showcase all that they have learned over the summer.

The program runs from 9 AM-3 PM July 2nd through August 3rd, 2018. Extended day and early drop-off is available (8:30 AM-5 PM) and offers free DJ class and music composition workshops.

Ivy Seed STEM Summer Camp

Ivy Seed STEM Camp is an app development day camp that takes place at MIT and Harvard’s campuses in Cambridge, MA. The mission is to run a program that is both stimulating and fun for campers, so that each morning they can’t wait to get to camp to see what awaits them.

At the end of each week, campers are expected to have made demonstrable progress while having a great time and being led by dedicated and engaging expert instructors.

The day camps consist of 1-week sessions that meet Monday through Friday from 9 AM-4 PM daily.

2018 sessions:

  • July 9-13, ages 10-13, Harvard—includes a half-day field trip.
  • July 16-20, ages 13-17, Harvard—includes a half-day field trip.
  • July 23-27, ages 10-15, Harvard—includes a half-day field trip.
  • July 30-August 3, ages 8-11, MIT—mix with international campers. 
  • August 6-10, ages 10-15, MIT—mix with international campers.
