I follow the philosophy that you're never too young to make art. This fun toddler art project, contributed by the folks at Kids at Work, is great for even the youngest little artists and a fun sensory twist on traditional finger painting. And since it involves bubble wrap, even older kids will love it.

Unfortunately FAO Schwarz closed in July 2015; we're looking into whether the make-your-own-toy experiences located there will move elsewhere. Shopping for toys is fun, but creating your own customized plaything is a much cooler and memorable experience. While NYC is filled with craft spots where kids can walk away with cute, homemade creations, there are only two places in town where children can drop in and make their own high-quality toys that look like they were just plucked from the retail shelf: FAO Schwarz and the Build-A-Bear Workshop. At these two megastores, kids can design their own dolls, cars, stuffed animals and more, usually not for much more than these items would cost anyway.
These make-your-own-toy experiences can also be turned into over-the-top birthday parties. Not only do the kids have a blast designing their own playthings, they go home with a party favor they'll truly treasure instead of those awful plastic-filled goody bags that always end up in the landfill.

Much like telephones and VW Beetles, birthday parties look a whole lot different than they used to. I know I posted recently about my favorite 60 second smoothie recipe. It's been my go-to fast and healthy breakfast, but when my son's doctor suggested I try his smoothie recipe with almond milk and protein powder for more protein and fewer carbs, it rocked my world so much I just had to share again.
First off, I had never tried almond milk before and the introduction of almond milk alone was a boon. I guess I had lumped almond milk in with soy milk and other "healthy" tasting milk alternatives. Not so. Vanilla almond milk is like drinking liquid biscotti. Yum! Adding almond milk to my coffee or in a milk steamer is now my favorite treat. But almond milk is actually lower in fat and has fewer calories than milk, plus lots of great vitamins.
But enough about me and my new addiction to almond milk. Here's the recipe for the fastest, protein-packed breakfast I know how to make.

If you've never seen a Stars on Ice show, this may be the best year to see it. If you are already a fan of Stars on Ice, this may be the best year to see it. If you're on the edge of your Dancing with the Stars seat, this is definitely the best year to see it. Seasoned figure skating fans and DWTS aficionados can rub elbows for the evening in Anaheim, as the multi-medal-winning 2014 US Olympic team spirals across the ice at Honda Center on May 10, with DWTS competitors Meryl Davis and Charlie White sporting their brand new Olympic gold. The rest of the team turns out on top form as well, offering up some fun and surprises that wouldn't have been possible on the ice in Sochi.
