The Summer Theatre of New Canaan, now in its 14th season of presenting acclaimed professional theatre at Waveny Park in New Canaan, offers quality theatre education programs for students. All programs are taught by working professional theatre artists (actors, directors, choreographers, creative designers) from Broadway and across the country. Middle-school age students can register for the Junior Company, a three-week performance program that presents a fully produced production of Singin' in The Rain, Jr. High School students who are considering pursuing theater in college can attend a two-week High School Theatre Intensive with daily master classes and workshops. Workshops and classes explore and teach skills in acting, Shakespeare, theatre techniques, musical theatre, clowning, stage combat, audition prep, voice and speech, and dance, as well as theatre creation. Students will attend a Broadway show with a back stage tour by one of the instructors.
