Dance with The Floor Dance Academy! In addition to year-round classes, The Floor's premiere dance program offers 2 summer dance camps to enhance your child's break from school. The Floor Dance Academy was created by choreographer and educator Jennifer Hamilton, whose work has been featured in over 45 feature films, multiple Broadway productions, and a variety of television shows and commercials. In hopes of sharing her wealth of knowledge with the next generation, The Floor was born. Their camps offer 3-4 dance classes from 10am-3pm daily, including jazz, ballet, hip-hop, musical theater, and more! The week culminates in a student performance at the Pico Playhouse Theater, a special guest appearance, and each participant will receive a swag bag. Genius Design Lab - Camps

Genius Design Lab is not your typical summer or afterschool program. There, children can make their imagination a reality (or virtual reality).
 
Everything starts with concept and design. Genius Design Lab teaches students the basics of 3-D modeling and printing/video game making/graphic design, then helps them concept and develop their ideas. They offer a unique learning experience for kids and teens from ages 10–16. The project-based approach encourages exploration and creativity with cutting-edge technologies that many students don’t get to try at school. Genius Design Lab members will be a step ahead of their peers in a future driven by tech innovation.

Sew Happy - Sewing Camps

Sew Happy offers fun camps at which students learn both hand and machine sewing skills while making wearable and useable garments. The kids work through fun design challenges, and they plan and orchestrate their own fashion show and photo booth on the last day.

Sew Happy Camp includes*:

  • Machine Sewing—Progress from basics to items like skirts, shorts, pillows, bags, and more.
  • Hand Sewing—Learn new techniques including embroidery and applique.
  • Crafts—Get creative making jewelry, accessories, and recycled projects from t-shirts.
  • "Rise to the Fashion Challenge”—Have fun with friends making fashion from weird and wonderful materials including recyclables and trash.
  • Quizzes and Games—Test your sewing and fashion knowledge.

Puddlestompers Summer Vacation Programs

Puddlestompers is actively working to reexamine its daily schedule and procedures to create a safe environment for all campers in the face of COVID-19. One week of daily virtual camp is now offered from June 8-June 12, 2020. Register today!

At Puddlestompers Summer Camp, your child can enjoy the beautiful summer season with exploration, active movement, games, songs, crafts, and plenty of fun. Puddlestompers runs in four different locations throughout the Greater Boston area, providing something for everyone. From 9am until 1pm, your young explorer will peer under rocks, splash through creeks, catch grasshoppers, and immerse themselves in the wonder of nature. Qualified Teacher Naturalists are there every step of the way to facilitate discovery and exploration with a small child-adult ratio. With two different age groups of 3-6 and 7-9 at most locations, there's something for everyone. Puddlestompers offers early drop-off and extended day at all of the Newton locations.
