Week-Long Theater Summer Camp

The Park Avenue Youth Theatre is launching a new, unique, and engaging theatre program this summer. We are looking for enthusiastic incoming 6th, 7th,and 8th graders who are interested in learning more about performance and creating original theater . Throughout the week, participants will engage in a variety of games and activities that help build their skills and confidence as performers.They will also work with professional directors to develop original scenes. On the final day, the group will share what they have created with their friends and families.

Breukelen Farmers Summer Camp

Young farmers and gardeners have a unique opportunity to explore past and present farming practices on the historic Wyckoff Farm. Campers ages 7 to 12 will learn about the plant life cycle from seed to harvest as well as the importance of composting and other green initiatives. Hands-on art projects and botanic investigations will allow campers to explore various aspects of plant life, from cultivated crops to free growing weeds. Each one-week session will culminate in a presentation of the campers’ artistic and planted achievements, as well as food prepared by campers from the Wyckoff garden.

Session II: Mon to Fri, August 19-23, 9am-3pm

Summer Camp in Spanish at Instituto Cervantes

Learn Spanish through the unique immersion program of Instituto Cervantes New York! Running weekly from mid-June thru the end of August, our Spanish program for children and teens is customized according to the age and level of Spanish of the students. Camp at the West Side YMCA

The West Side YMCA offers seven day camp options on the Upper West Side. Arts Camp, Kinder Camp, Day Camp, Sports Camp, and Teen Camp operate out of the main branch location at 5 West 63rd, and Kinder Camp and Day Camp take place at the Grosvenor Neighborhood House YMCA on West 105th.

Campers engage in specialist-led activities that enhance their social and emotional skills, keep them physically active, challenge them academically, and inspire them to learn new things every day. They participate in sports, arts and crafts, weekly field trips, theme days, instructional swimming, and STEM activities.

Petits Amis Francais is a fun and entertaining program designed to expose your child to the French language through various activities. Five times a week for 3 hours classes per day, your little ones will hear and learn nursery rhymes, songs and participate in arts and crafts activities that will expose them to the French language. Action Arts Summer Camp

Action Arts Summer camp is a creative and engaging arts learning experience for kids 5-12.

Teachers College, Columbia University, is proud to host the 2013 Action Arts Summer Camp for children ages 5-12. The camp runs from Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm, August 5-16. Each day, campers join arts education professionals to engage in hands-on discovery in music, art, dance/drama and playwriting. Through the use of a developmentally appropriate curriculum, campers engage in exciting theme-based interdisciplinary activities that encourage inquiry and cooperation.

The program cultivates freedom, awareness and expression while nurturing children’s independent voices. The camp also promotes multicultural self-expression, listening, composing, moving, dancing, drawing, sculpture, collage and creative writing.
A typical day at the camp includes integrated emphasis on all arts disciplines, story time, outdoor and indoor free play, snack time, and water play.

Instructors at Action Arts Summer Camp are experienced educators and artists who are or have been part of Teachers College Art, Music, Dance or English programs. They are adept at working with all children and accommodating various abilities.
