At Manhattan Fencing Center's summer programs, students learn one of the most elegant, exhilarating, and safest sports that teaches discipline, coordination, and sportsmanship.

In addition to fencing, camps offer add-on options of chess and dance, which help develop the mental game and footwork needed to foil opponents on and off the strip.

Located in NYC’s Olympic fencing facility, camp is ideal for beginner and intermediate fencers. Fencing groups are separated by age and experience. Activities include fencing games, footwork, drills, and open bouting.

Way Out Creative Workshop at Bloomingdale School of Music

Bloomingdale School of Music presents "Way Out", a one-week music composition and creative workshop for ages 11-18.

A wild ensemble experience, Way Out is a chance for students interested in trying their hand at composition to collaborate in imaginative and fun new ways. Working outside of staff paper, students in this class create pieces using experimental sounds while working with friends and using the space around them. Participants will develop and experiment with sounds, form, and ensemble play.

The weeklong workshop will result in a final piece that will be performed by the creators.

Students are required to have at least two years of experience on their instrument and be age eleven or older at the start of the workshop.

Join the orchestra at the piano! While students explore the orchestral world deeply through Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition", they will also explore piano playing and music composition through interactive and playful experiences. Students will learn more about the instruments of the orchestra than ever before, and they'll get to experience:

  • Hands-on trials of each section of the orchestra 
  • Meeting real performers
  • Exploring piano playing further
  • Composing music through interactive play.

Carnival of the Instruments at Bloomingdale School of Music

Bloomingdale School of Music presents Carnival of the Instruments, a one-week workshop for ages 6-10.

Discover the wonderful world of music through the classic piece "Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Saens. Students will receive an array of musical experiences that will develop them both as listeners and active participants in the creation of music. In addition to exploring the instruments of the orchestra, classes will include:

  • Movement
  • Singing exercises
  • Introduction to musical concepts
  • Basic keyboarding skills in both ensemble and individual settings.​

At the end of the week, students will be given an opportunity to showcase their new skills in a final performance for friends and family. Coastal Sports NJ

Manhattan College Summer Day Camp

Manhattan College Summer Day Camp is an educational camp for kids ages 5-14 offering a truly unique experience, combining the vast resources of a higher education institution with learning-based activities that will keep children engaged all day. Campers will have access to Manhattan College resources such as classrooms, computer labs, and the five-story library. The camp will take place on campus at the convenient New York City location. The program runs from Monday, June 25th to Friday, August 17th from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Manhattan College Summer Day Camp combines fun with learning as kids participate in activities designed to help them develop new skills, try out new hobbies, and make long-lasting friendships. Children will expand their creativity through art, math, and reading activities as well as learning a number of important skills using computers and science.

At Bergen Equestrian Center's summer program, campers start the morning off in the barn learning about horses, grooming, equipment, and how to prepare for riding. They have a one-hour riding lesson specially tailored to their abilities and experience levels, and they learn from a blacksmith, an equine vet, and a dentist. Fun-filled afternoon activities include playing games, painting, participating in horse shows and barn scavenger hunts, playing in the sprinklers, and making horse-centric arts and crafts. Special programs include horseless horse shows, pizza Fridays, games on horseback, face painting, costume contests, and horse finger painting. Campers also get the opportunity to spend time in the BEC/Audubon Butterfly Garden with the Bergen County Audubon Society learning about the plants and animals that share the environment.
