Family Campouts: Tracks and Scat
Families can explore the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary after hours and join us for a night of camping under the stars.
Have an early dinner at home, and then come set up your tent by the Barn. Many cultures and people from the past depended on reading the forests for their survival. Families can join in on this fun overnight and learn some new skills. On the evening hike, participants identify animal tracks, scat, and signs found on the trails and woodland roads. In the morning, everyone gets up early and continue to track to look for clues to where an animal bedded down for the night or what it ate.
All campouts include an evening and a morning activity or hike and a light breakfast. The campout begins at 6pm on Saturday and ends at 9am on Sunday. Campouts are rescheduled only in the event of extreme weather. Please note that refunds will not be issued if the campout is rescheduled to the rain date and you are unable to attend. Advanced registration is required.
