Summer Camp Open Houses: NYC Day Camps, Commuter Camps & Sleepaway Camps
Right after the New Year starts, we start getting inundated with emails asking for summer camp recommendations. Usually Summer Camp Freak Out Fever doesn't kick in until early February. But with many summer programs already holding open houses and putting those countdown-to-summer clocks on their websites, it's no wonder we're all stressing out.
While it will be a few weeks before we finish overhauling our Mommy Poppins Summer Camp Guide for 2015, we decided to share info about upcoming open houses and tours for some of our sponsors: notable NYC day camps, commuter camps and even one sleepaway camp. Our list is by no means comprehensive—there are hundreds of summer camps in Manhattan alone! But if you're wondering how to get started, this list should help. If a program piques your interest, just click the name of the camp for all the info.
In addition to the individual open houses listed, we've got the scoop on a series of local camp fairs where you can meet representatives from multiple programs at the same time. So let your research begin!
