At New Haven Academy of Performing Arts, every child is given a place to feel seen, supported, confident, and inspired — and that is exactly what families discover the moment they walk through the doors. NHAOPA is not just a performing arts school. It is a safe haven. It is a community. It is a second home filled with encouragement, laughter, and life-changing experiences that help children grow not only as performers, but as human beings.
Whether a child is shy, spirited, dramatic, musical, energetic, creative, or searching for “their thing,” NHAOPA meets them right where they are and helps them shine. Nationally recognized instructors do more than teach — they mentor, guide, uplift, and help students believe in themselves. Children build real confidence, learn discipline, develop leadership skills, make lifelong friendships, and discover a powerful sense of belonging. Many students go on to incredible opportunities in theater, television, and college programs — but every child leaves with greater self-esteem, emotional strength, resilience, and joy.
Parents appreciate that New Haven Academy of Performing Arts offers professional-level training in voice, instruments, acting, musical theatre, dance, and performance — all under one supportive roof — inside a state-of-the-art facility featuring its own in-house theater. That means students aren’t just “taking a class.” They are stepping into real productions, real stages, real performance opportunities, and unforgettable moments that shape who they become.
What truly sets New Haven Academy of Performing Arts apart is its heart. The academy is inclusive, welcoming, bilingual, and culturally open. Individuality, kindness, and acceptance are celebrated every single day. No matter who a child is, they have a place here. NHAOPA is committed to developing superstar performers — but even more importantly, superstar human beings.
For families searching for a positive outlet… a place where children are encouraged instead of judged… where they gain confidence instead of anxiety… where teachers cheer louder than anyone in the room… and where every child is valued, supported, and truly loved every step of the way…
They will find it here.

Panda Programmer’s summer camps are a mixture of coding, fun, and exploration! Located across Montgomery County, Maryland and Washington, DC — in Gaithersburg, Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Chevy Chase, Panda has been doing summer camps since 2015.
Summer Camp Sessions are 5-days long, Monday through Friday. With full-day, half-day, and after-care options, Panda summer camp is great for kids and parents. Campers program primarily in Scratch, and advanced students can progress on to Python, robotics, and JavaScript. And while the majority of the day may be spent coding, it’s important to not spend the entire day in front of screens. Throughout the day, students partake in multiple activities away from computers, including:
• Outdoor Lunchtime
• Outside Recess and Activities
• Inside Break Time and Games
• Various Fun Extracurriculars like Chess, Ukulele, Origami, etc.

For over 100 years, Fernwood has been a home away from home where girls can enhance their sense of self, live simply, and grow into confident, kind, independent young women. While embracing the Maine outdoors, each camper builds her own individualized schedule, choosing from activities on the water, in the arts, and in athletics. From day trips to overnight adventures, campers also enjoy hiking, canoeing, surfing, and berry picking throughout the state of Maine.
With 225 campers and more than 150 staff members, Fernwood is a community that feels like a big family, where close relationships and thoughtful guidance ensure every camper is truly known and supported.

Hosmer Point is a place campers call "home." Each 13-day session has only 100 campers of all genders, ages 9-15, and boasts a camper/counselor ratio of 3:1. The small session size and emphasis on community, inclusivity, and kindness build friendships and mutual respect. Children direct their own schedules, fostering self confidence as they choose from fun and creative activities like sculling, sailing, farming, canoeing, arts & crafts, guitar lessons, photography, soccer, tennis, theater, woodcarving, and mountain biking. Experienced directors who are reachable at any time and American Camp Association accreditation mean parents can send their kids to camp with confidence that no-one will "slip through the cracks."
Other highlights are delicious farm-to-table food (with accommodations for special diets), a focus on environmental stewardship, and an electronics-free campus. Tuition is on an income-based sliding scale.
Hosmer Point also offers four-day-weekend family camps in August and September, perfect for younger families, kids who want support from parents for their first time at camp, and anyone who wants an all-inclusive mini vacation with great food and lots of activities in a beautiful spot.
Call or email to speak with a camp Director and see if Hosmer Point is a good fit for your camper.
