Weekend Fun for Boston Kids: June 7-8
Submitted by Celeste Bocchic... on
It's a great weekend for the arts, with art festivals and markets in Somerville, Salem, Roslindale, Boston, and Brookline this weekend. For hands-on art making activities, head to Artbeat in Arlington to make mosaic sun catchers or head on over to the Boston Public Garden for the first of the ParkARTS Watercolor Workshops. If you are more of a left-brainer, check out the ParkSCIENCE Children's Festival at Jamaica Pond or the Robotics Competition and Science Fair at the Kroc Center. This weekend in children's music we have the Stacey Peasley Band at Club Passim, Lisa Loeb in Burlington and Victoria Daheza at the Roslindale Public Library. And if you just want to celebrate your place in the human family, head on over to the Rose Kennedy Greenway for the Race Amity Day festivities.
Also on Mommy Poppins this week:
- Tara visits the Blue Hills Trailside Museum.
- Start planning your Father's Day fun with this list of activities dads actually want to do with their families in Boston.
- Amelia teaches us how to make folded paper chains as part of our WeeWork series.
- Also, part of the WeeWork series, Anna gives instructions for Shibori natural indigo dying. Sign up to get WeeWork ideas in your inbox here!
Have a great weekend, and don't forget to check out the full calendar for all the fantastic events in and around Boston.
