It's a great weekend for the arts, with art festivals and markets in Somerville, Salem, Roslindale, Boston, and Brookline this weekend. For hands-on art making activities, head to Artbeat in Arlington to make mosaic sun catchers or head on over to the Boston Public Garden for the first of the ParkARTS Watercolor Workshops. If you are more of a left-brainer, check out the ParkSCIENCE Children's Festival at Jamaica Pond or the Robotics Competition and Science Fair at the Kroc Center.  This weekend in children's music we have the Stacey Peasley Band at Club Passim, Lisa Loeb in Burlington and Victoria Daheza at the Roslindale Public Library.  And if you just want to celebrate your place in the human family, head on over to the Rose Kennedy Greenway for the Race Amity Day festivities.

There's Madison Square Park's tasty Big Apple Barbecue Block Party, Governors Island's FREE Figment arts festival, the Egg Rolls & Egg Creams Festival on the Lower East Side, the debut of New York Hall of Science's hands-on Design Lab and a no-cost concert by Grammy nominated kid rockers Brady Rymer and the Little Band that Could in Wagner Park.

My two boys absolutely love going to an aquarium (they’ve been obsessed with fish since watching Finding Nemo), so we were super excited to pay our first visit to the New York Aquarium last month. While the Aquarium is still rebuilding after damage from Superstorm Sandy, there is still plenty to see and do for a day of family fun right off the Coney Island boardwalk.

Kick back with the kiddos and enjoy a warm & sunny weekend in June!
