Silent is so last year; Unsilent Night is where it's at. Families can help New York composer Phil Kline celebrate his 25th year of putting on this show of seasonal music, in which the attendees create the orchestra.
The event has a loyal following in many cities and takes place rain or shine.
Participants should meet at the corner of Cowan & 80th St. for a neighborhood Unsilent Night experience. Everyone is welcome to help create the music during a 45min walk through the neighborhood. Bikes, stollers, wheelchairs, etc. are all welcome.
Step 1: Bring your “instrument” (boombox, smart phone with portable speakers, etc.)
Step 2: Download the song file (4 versions to choose from) or use the app.
Step 3: Bundle up, show up, and share a “musical pilgrimage” with the community.
Start time is 6:00pm, but it's recommended to arrive a little early.
