The 2,800-member Washington Area Frisbee Club (WAFC) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to promoting flying disc sports in the Washington DC metropolitan area. WAFC sponsors local ultimate leagues that include divisions for players of all levels, from beginner to national-caliber. Ultimate in the nation’s capital offers a great way to make new friends and get – or stay – in shape.
WAFC carries a mission of promoting healthy lifestyles and empowering future leaders through learning, playing, teaching, and coaching ultimate in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

For over 100 years, Fernwood has been a home away from home where girls can enhance their sense of self, live simply, and grow into confident, kind, independent young women. While embracing the Maine outdoors, each camper builds her own individualized schedule, choosing from activities on the water, in the arts, and in athletics. From day trips to overnight adventures, campers also enjoy hiking, canoeing, surfing, and berry picking throughout the state of Maine.
With 225 campers and more than 150 staff members, Fernwood is a community that feels like a big family, where close relationships and thoughtful guidance ensure every camper is truly known and supported.
