Second Floor Studio

Second Floor Studio is a place where a fifth-grader can find his or her own artistic voice, while a toddler can explore brush strokes with their mommy or daddy by their side. Students are exposed to a range of fine arts including painting, drawing, sculpture, and more. Classes are created with process and originality at the core. All small-group instruction is led by owner and local artist Jessica Howard-Schiavo, a twenty-year veteran of art instruction in NYC private schools. Come create!

Little Bandits

Little Bandits is a weekly music class for toddlers in Brooklyn, New York, created and led by Jeanna Phillips and Alex Thrailkill to introduce young children to the joy of creating music together.

Through songs, games, dances, collaborative noise-making, and only the tiniest amount of mischief, Little Bandits teaches that music is a joyous way to express yourself, build confidence, make friends, deepen family bonds, and explore the world around you.

Classes meet for 45-minute sessions weekly in Prospect Heights, Park Slope, and Windsor Terrace. Summertime classes are held in various shady spots in Prospect Park. Signups are available for full sessions as well as drop-in classes. New families are welcome to sign up for a free trial to see what Little Bandits is about!

Little Bandits classes are a celebration for kids and adults of all ages, but it's recommended to sign up little ones between 6 months and 3 years old.

Metropolitan Music Academy offers music classes and private instrumental lessons for students of all ages and levels. The school program allows students to take lessons conveniently in their homes while providing all the benefits and opportunities that a community school can offer. ​The school boasts an extensive network of teachers in the New York metropolitan area including all areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn, Westchester County (NY), Bergen County (NJ), and Greenwich (CT). All of the dedicated faculty members hold advanced degrees in their fields, including Masters of Music degrees and Doctor of Music degrees from notable conservatories and universities across the country, and also are actively performing artists. Nalandabodhi New York - Meditation Mountain Class

Nalandabodhi New York's Meditation Mountain: Mindfulness Activities for Children class introduces and teaches mindfulness skills to children. Students will engage in a variety of activities ranging from buddhist-themed practices to traditional story-time readings. The aim is to keep the class creative and fun. Students will be introduced to sitting meditation as well.

Ages 4-6 are welcome. Parents and caregivers are asked to stay with children to assist. Just come as you are. All materials are provided. The class has a limit of 10 children. ECNS Etc. offers activities for children that challenge their minds and bodies. For children 3 to 8 years old, class offerings include Chess, Gymnastics, Parkour, Lego Build, and Yoga. For newborns to 3-year-olds, "caregiver and child” activities are offered in the school's 2100-square-foot brightly colored and child-safe gym. The Baby Mixer is a great place to meet and socialize with other parents and babies (0-6 months). Open Play allows children 6 months through 3 year and their grown-ups to play in the wonderful, fully equipped gym. New classes are frequently added based on suggestions from parents. 

ECNS Etc. birthday parties are perfect for children ages 2 to 10. You’ll get exclusive use of the gym and indoor party room, and the private rooftop playground can also be included.
