New Skating Rink in Battery Park City: We're giving away lessons and party packages

There's a brand new ice skating rink in Manhattan this winter. Battery Park City on Ice is located directly across West St from Whole Foods on the Northern edge of Battery Park City West St and Warren to be exact). We stopped by for an afternoon of skating last Monday to check it out.
Read on to learn more about this new skating rink and how you could win skating lessons or a birthday party.

I don't know if people just don't know about this rink yet, or if they'd just prefer to travel to Bryant Park for free skating, but we had it pretty much to ourselves except for a few other neighborhood families who were enjoying an after-school skate. The rink is nice and large and it was great to be able to skate freely without the crowds you find at most other rinks.
Battery Park City on Ice is open for public skating every day. Admission is $10 and Skate Rental is $3. You can buy a pass to get 10 entrances and rentals for $90. The ten pack can be used for multiple people, so this is a good deal for a family or group, even if you only come back a few times.
The skating rink in Battery Park City has a concession stand with hot drinks and a variety of foods and snacks, but only has outdoor tables for eating. There are no lockers. Instead there are large shelves for leaving your belongings out in the open. I guess the attendants are there watching the stuff to some degree and it certainly promotes the idea of this as a neighborhood rink.
Battery Park City Ice offers Skating Lessons ($99 for 4 lessons), Hockey Clinics and Birthday Parties ($20 per guest-10 guest minimum).
We're giving away to our email subscribers a set of skating lessons or a birthday party every week between now and January 26th! To enter sign up for our emails for more details.
Visit Battery Park City on Ice website for extended Winter Break hours.
