For New York City kids, October is the month-of-months when it comes to outdoor food and music in equal measure. Head to Randall's Island Park for the annual Harvest Festival, or stuff yourself at Pickle Day on the Lower East Side. As for music, the Moonlights play at Symphony Space, while Madison Square Park's Kids Fest: Stages in the Square offers musical acts all weekend.

The Halloween fun is gaining momentum, too, with the Ragamuffin Parade in Bay Ridge, a costumed dog parade in Coney Island, and Hansel and Gretel's Halloween Adventure at Central Park's Marrionette Cottage. See our complete guide to Halloween activites for New York City Kids, as well as our guide to Haunted Halloween Houses and Not-too-Spooky Walks.

Also, as always, see our October GoList for more picks o' the month, while our Fall Fun Guide and our event calendar continually provide a larger picture of the future of fun events for New York City kids.
