Weekend Fun for Philly Kids: Shopkins, PJ Masks, Museums September 23-24

Children in the Delaware Valley are certainly in for a treat during this first weekend of autumn. An array of amazing entertainment and activities can be found in our event calendar.

Philly kids who are big fans of the little toys called Shopkins are going to love Shopkins Live! as the Shopville gang takes the stage at The Keswick Theater. Like PJ Mask from Disney Jr.? See Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko at the Merriam Theater. Thomas the Tank Engine can be found on the rails at Strasburg while the Disney princess, Mulan, is back on the big screen at your local AMC Theater. Even though Halloween is over a month away, Philly families can get started with some spooky fun. Events such as Six Flags Great Adventure Fright Fest for older kids and The Count's Halloween Spooktacular for little ones begin to creep into the calendar.

Families seeking free activities can experience Smithsonian Magazine Day Live which allows visitors free admission for two guests at some fantastic local venues such as the Hagley Museum, Mercer Museum, Woodford Mansion, and Penn Museum. Other free opportunities include Techgirlz Robotics, Javascript, and Inforgraphics workshops for girls ages 12-14, or the APS Annual Garden Party held at Jefferson Gardens, perfect for the entire family.
