A Poetry Jukebox, installed at the Ruth Wittenburg Triangle, plays twenty poems in a constant loop, featuring Jane Jacobs, Allen Ginsberg, and Jack Kerouac, among others.

The Poetry Jukebox was conceived by the Czech project Piána na ulici (Pianos on the Street), led by the coffee house owner Ondřej Kobza and cultural manager Michaela Hečková whose mission is to animate public spaces worldwide.

The poets, songwriters, novelists and activists represented in this Jukebox reflect an array of artists that have called the Village home. The featured poems and poets are:

  • Edna St. Vincent Millay - Love is Not All
  • Sara Teasdale - Barter
  • Denise Levertov - The Pilots

  • James Baldwin - Sonny Blues
  • Edgar Allan Poe - The Raven
