This free event in Madison Square Park features a life-sized, interactive Gingerbread House – now with a “4D” immersive storytelling experience.
Madison Square Park's life-sized street of gingerbread houses returns for 2017, and formally opens at 3:30 pm on December 7, right before the park's tree lighting.
Built with ginger “bricks” and topped with a “frosting”-covered roof, the Taste of Home Gingerbread House’s exterior will be adorned with decorative licorice, gummies and other colorful candy-like trimmings. Upon entering the house, visitors will be able to look out across a candy land universe by means of a synchronized video experience. In the house visitors will meet the Gingerbread Man and follow him on a journey, becoming a part of the story through immersive elements such as smelling the gingerbread, feeling the chill of a snowstorm and meeting special guests along the way in a one-of-a-kind experience that engages all of their senses.
Following that opening, Gingerbread Boulevard's hours are:
Monday – Friday: 2:00pm – 8:00pm
Weekends: 12:00pm – 8:00pm
House opens to the public at 3:30pm on December 7th (with the tree-lighting in Madison Square Park)
