With spring just a few weeks away, nature events are popping up throughout the state, including Great Swamp’s Awesome Animal Artists, Macculloch Hall’s Growing in the Garden, and Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed’s Winter Preschool Nature Classes. Monday, March 6

Northern NJ:
Awesome Animal Artists – Chatham
Young artists can show off their creativity at Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center. This outdoor and indoor program will teach participants ages 5–9 to draw a native New Jersey animal. Pre-registration is required.

Southern NJ:
Emoji Skate Night – Camden
Don your favorite emoji tees, and get half-off admission at Millennium Skate World’s family night.

Tuesday, March 7

Virtual Scavenger Hunt – Facebook
Join Mommy Poppins for a Facebook Live scavenger hunt exploring Gulliver's Gate. The amazing miniature world is set to open in Times Square on April 4, but you can see the craftspeople building it, ask questions, and get a sneak peek with us. Keep your eyes peeled for our scavenger hunt clues, and you could win tickets to visit, too! Follow the Mommy Poppins Facebook page to participate.

Northern NJ:
Growing in the Garden – Morristown
Moles in March is the theme of this month’s preschool art workshop at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum. Little gardeners will listen to a story, do a craft, and explore the gardens. Pre-registration is required.

Central NJ:
Winter Preschool Nature ClassesPennington
Preschoolers are invited to Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association for a nature-filled morning. This week’s focus is What’s for Lunch? Program runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and pre-registration is required.

Wednesday, March 8

Northern NJ:
Park BenchMontclair
Preschoolers can get immersed in museum culture at Montclair Art Museum’s monthly art program. Art projects, snacks, and a guided tour are part of the fun.

Central NJ:
Paint Me a Story – Flemington
​If your little ones love painting and stories, get the best of both worlds at Gone Paintin’s crafty storytime. Participants will listen to Dragons Love Tacos and then paint a ceramic dragon to take home. Pre-registration is required.

Amphibians for Tadpoles – Paramus
Hop on over to Bergen County Zoo for a workshop full of amphibian fun. Kids 4–6 will take part in crafts and stories about these creatures and then visit amphibian friends in the zoo.
