The community of Monrovia celebrates its 139th birthday with a weekend of events. Highlights include games, carnival rides, food, live music, a meringue pie eating contest, and the annual Monrovia Days parade.
Thursday, May 15:
Monrovia Days Parade on Myrtle Ave : 7pm to 9pm, "Celebrating our Scholars and Champions"
Friday, May 16:
MUSD Pep Rally & Youth Performances: 5pm to 6pm
Carnival opens: 5 pm to 10 pm, live band performances, including Bumptown (Top 40's Band)
Saturday, May 17:
Youth Performances: 12noon to 4pm
Parade Awards Ceremony: 4:30pm
Merengue's Famous Pie Eating Contest: 5pm
Carnival 12 noon to 10pm. All day live Entertainment, including OC Groove (Blues, Rock and Funk Band)
Sunday, May 18:
Youth Performances: 12noon to 5pm
Carnival: 12 noon to 8pm, live band performances, including Stone Soul ( Classic Soul and Motown Band)

Friday and Saturday there is a Friends of the Library Book Sale (times may vary). Wristbands are cheaper when purchased in advance.
