July’s Drop-in Workshop for Families at the Academy Museum is inspired by the Family Matinee Series’ theme of summer camp! 

Families can create their own Claymation animation depicting a story about camping.

Filmmakers use armatures and clay to create movement with each frame that is captured. Participants can use these techniques to create their own Claymation stop-motion animation.

This activity can be joined anytime from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level.

The Education team invites families to join museum educators every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings to create, learn, and have fun!  Museum admission is free for youth ages 17 and under.
