This annual Snapper and Crab Derby held at Captree State Park is quite the catch for Long Island families. Children ages 16 and younger can discover and enjoy fishing.

Prizes are awarded to the heaviest snapper and crab caught each day.

"Catch-and-release" fishing is encouraged. Buy, rent or bring your own rod.

Age categories are as follows:
7 years old and younger
8-12 years old
13-16 years old

The awards ceremony begins at 2:30pm each day.
