These creepy crawly creatures have a reputation that precedes them—terrifying, fast, hairy, scary—the biggest, baddest and most fearsome of all spiders. In the Academy’s newest exhibit, Tarantulas: Alive and Up Close, visitors come face-to-face with a stunning array of live tarantulas, experience interactive activities, and find out why tarantulas are so hairy. Twenty species are set to be on display, each with a unique story to tell.

There is metered parking, some of which is free on Sundays. Additionally, there are parking lots that offer discounts to museum visitors; however, please read signs carefully as each has specific requirements to obtain the discount.
