Bronx Zoo's favorite Halloween tradition, Boo at the Zoo, is back at the Bronx Zoo, weekends in October. Stop by for music, magic, and fun facts about  favorite animals that are surrounded by Mystery and Mischief. Take a look at the schedule of events and plan a trip with the whole family.

Jack O'Lantern Illumination

Wander through our illumination of 1,000 hand-carved and beautifully lit Jack 'O Lanterns in World of Darkness. Created by Rise of the Jack O 'Lanterns, the "Jacks" will fill the former animal exhibits with a display of pumpkins carved into creepy and crawly bugs, bats, hawks, vipers, eels and more!

Location: World of Darkness 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Costume Parade

The Alice Farley Dance Company will lead our costumed kids in an Animal Mystery and Mischief Parade! Join the dancers, dressed as snakes, bats, and more, along the parade. Complete with live musicians, it's always a highlight of Boo at the Zoo!

Location: Starts at Rhino Garden & extends to Grizzly Corner
12-1 p.m., 2-3 p.m.

Hay Maze

Find your way through the twists and turns of our Hay Maze. It's Halloween themed adventure everyone will enjoy!

Location: Butterfly Pad
 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

3-D Carved Pumpkins

Location: Dancing Crane Plaza, Time: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Sand Sculpture USA is back to create pumpkin carvings of different animals each weekend:

October 3-4: Gorillas in the Mist
October 10-12: Rain Forest Canopy
October 17-18: The Toad and the Tarantula Mystery
October 24-25: Blue York
Halloween Weekend: Bat Cave

Mystery of Animals

Stop by one of  5 carts to learn about different mysterious species with help from the educators! Don't miss the special 6th station by the Dancing Crane Pumpkin Carver with special facts about the animal they are carving.

Locations: Lions, Reptile House, Garden, Grizzly Bears, and World of Darkness  11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Treat Stations

Kids can safely trick or treat around the zoo with snacks from Welch's Fruit Snacks, Pirates Booty, Hershey's milk chocolate treats, and various gummy candies!

Location: Zoo Center, Bug Carousel, Monorail, and Jack 'O Lantern Illumination and Asia Stage  11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Creepy Crafts Making masks – from a frog to an elephant to an owl, young artists can choose their favorite animal and make a mask for their Halloween trick or treating.

Location: Dancing Crane area 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Thrilling Magic Shows

Join the internationally acclaimed magician, David Levitan for the "Animal Mystery and Mischief Magic Show." A white-lab coated "magic scientist" will teach us how scientists uncover the mysteries of the animal kingdom.

Location: Tent at Grizzly Corner 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m.

Extinct Animal Graveyard

Bronx Zoo  working hard to protect all animal species, but unfortunately we've already lost a few. Stop by the Mouse House lawn and explore the extinct Animal Graveyard to learn how you can help save animals.

Location: Mouse House lawn 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
