A little bit of everything this weekend, so whether you're looking for indoor or outdoor activities, film, art, a cool concert, or something literary, we've got it and it's all free. See wonderful short films at MoMA, A Mr Ray concert, buy discounted books and holiday gifts at a charity book fair, story time, magic and skating at Bryant Park, and crazy cool can art in Battery Park City. Have a great weekend and get ready for some turkey eating.

Short Films at MoMA
Saturday, November 22, 12pm

Recommended for ages 5 and up
FREE. First come, first served

"Yes, we went to the MoMA this weekend, you know, to see Knuffle Bunny. A masterpiece!"
See four classic short live action and animated films around the theme Puzzles and Predicaments. After the movies, children can discuss the issues depicted with an educator and will be given some activity ideas to follow-up in the museum galleries. By the way, this is one of the best ways to get in to the MoMA for free since all free family programs are good for up to 2 adults and three children (under the age of 10) and include museum admission and you can stay and enjoy the museum for as long as you like after the program.

Mr Ray Concert at AppleSeeds

"Dude, this band is hotter than my wipe warmer."
Mr Ray rocks out to the sparkly tunes he wrote for AppleSeeds newest music class, Songs for Seeds. After the concert, enjoy complimentary bagels and then it's home by nap-time.

Goddard Riverside Community Center Family Book Fair

New Children's and adult books, plus best sellers, cookbooks and art books, CDs, DVDs, calendars and gift items. Children's book readings and signings. All proceeds are to raise money for the Goddard Riverside Community Center. Reader, Kate, tells us all books will be new and 50% off on Saturday and further discounted on Sunday.

Story Time amd Magic in Bryant Park
Stories: Saturdays, starting November 22 at 1pm (weather permitting)
Magic: Sundays at 1pm

Every Saturday now through Christmas, Flaubert Frog reads classic stories from a different place (this weekend it's classic French tales). On Sundays watch a magic performance by a different magician (this weekend R J Lewis). By the way, while you're there, you might want to take advantage of the free skating and if you go early get free skating lessons from 9-11am.)

40 sculptures created entirely by cans of food are the winning entries of works created by architects, artists and students. At the end of the show, the pieces are donated to City Harvest. You are encouraged to bring additional food donations to the show as well.
