Stamford Museum and Nature Center & Essex Steam Train

August is here and I don't know about you, but I need to spice things up around here. Before we know it, the kids will be back to school and I'll be regretting the places I should have taken them but didn't. In order to  make the most of summer before all of this freedom disappears we have rounded up our favorite places to take a Day Trip in and around CT.

As July winds down and August is almost upon us, Philly families are gearing up to enjoy the last month of Summer 2015. Thankfully, this weekend does not disappoint as there are a variety of options to keep everyone happy.

Celebrate summer at Penn's Landing's ACANA Festival, Pennypacker Mills' Good Ole Summertime event or Rose Tree's Summer Festival Concert. Embrace the arts at Brandywine River Museum's PNC Arts Alive Family Program or the Philadelphia Museum of Art's The Great Outdoors Festival. Search for butterflies at Norristown Farm Park, eat with the animals at the Brandywine Zoo or explore the walking trails at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education
