Day of the Dead...LIVE!
- see all dates
Also on October 31, 2023, November 1, 2023.
Celebrate Día de los Muertos with diabolical music from classical and popular composers, Mexican and European. It's a one-hour piano performance with larger-than-life puppets, all themed around Halloween and Day of the Dead, accompanied by jugglers, stilt-walkers, ghosts, skeletons, and dancers.
The evening opens with Saint-Saen’ Danse Macabre, and travels from Dante’s Inferno to Paradiso in Liszt’s Dante Sonata and features popular songs of Mexican folk composers like Rubio and Velázquez. The music is performed by gifted virtuoso pianist Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner. The merry life-sized puppets, jugglers, and dancers spring from the imagination of circus-trained aerialist Juanita Cardenas. Expect ghosts, skeletons, and ghoulish surprises!
Performances run Wednesday through Saturday at 6pm, plus Sundays at 2pm, AND Halloween and Day of the Dead (Tuesday & Wednesday, October 31 and November 1) at 6pm!
