Festival of Trees
Kick off your holiday season by visiting Reading Education Foundation’s (REF) 18th annual Festival of Trees, a winter wonderland of decorated holiday trees donated by local families, organizations, businesses and schools that festival visitors can win for themselves.
With over 100 uniquely-decorated trees of all shapes, sizes and themes, festival visitors can try their luck at winning the raffles for their favorite trees, as well as voting for the Most Creative Tree, Most Unusual Tree and the Best Tree Topper. In addition, children will enjoy decorating their own cookies, and taking part in REF’s annual Scavenger Hunt to earn a free raffle ticket.
Lucky winners of tree raffles will be selected at closing on Sunday night. Saturday evening from 5 to 8pm, the Festival will host the popular “Night with the Trees,” with dinner and desserts for purchase. Children are welcome to come in their pajamas for a sing-a-long, games and reading of The Polar Express. All proceeds go towards teacher grants in Reading public schools.
