Win It!: Valentines Day Dinner from Susie's Supper Club
Yes, keeping the romance alive with your spouse is important even after you have kids, sometimes more so. But, I've never been a big fan of the forced romance of Valentine's Day. We love celebrating Valentine's Day with our kids, who get much more pleasure out of chocolates and flowers than I ever have.
Our tradition starts the night before when my husband cuts paper hearts out of construction paper and sprinkles them all over my daughter's bed and bedroom floor while she sleeps so that she wakes up to a sea of love. And the day concludes with the four of us enjoying a candlelit picnic of delicacies spread out on the floor of our living room. Again, our kids love the romance and I think we have our own kind of romantic moment from being a young family all happy together.
Plan your own romantic Valentines Day dinner for four at home and make it even more magical by not having to lift a finger. Susie's Supper Club is a new service that will deliver a complete dinner ready to heat up and serve. Not only is the food delicious, but it is much healthier than restaurant food, made from organic ingredients purchased from local farms practicing sustainable farming.
We tried a wide range of the dishes, and while I admit there were some things that my kids thought were "weird" like the quinoa cakes with mozzarella (which I loved, by the way), there was plenty that they did like. Our favorites were the Creamy Tomato Soup, the Asian Skirt Steak and the Gnocchi with Fresh Tomato Sauce.
The quality of the ingredients and recipes is apparent when you taste the food. It all tastes healthy in the "This pea soup tastes like fresh peas right off the vine" way, rather than the kind of healthy you wish your food wasn't quite so much.
You can order dinners a la carte or a family dinner is $18 per person including an entree, two side dishes and a dessert. That's about what you'd pay to order take out and Susie's Super Club is certainly superior in quality and healthier. The only draw-back is you have to order ahead of time, so you must plan when you're going to be too tired to make dinner in advance.
One lucky Mommy Poppins reader will win a delicious dinner for four for Valentines Day. Just leave a comment on this post by Tuesday, February 10th at Midnight to enter. Our winners will be able to pick out a dinner for four consisting of a main course, two sides and a dessert. The meal will be delivered on Friday, February 13th to your home or office in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Make sure to use an email address that you check frequently because the winner will be notified on Wednesday and need to place their order the same day in order to receive delivery for Friday. Check out Susie's Super Club website to learn more and see the beautiful foods they offer. Bon Appetite!

This sounds fabulously yummy! My birthday is on Valentine's Day (woo-hoo!). However my husband works for a floral business so we have never spent the holiday/birthday together.
