Super Solar Eclipse Sunday at the Hudson River Museum
Get ready for the once-in-a-lifetime Total Solar Eclipse, happening April 8. Learn all about the big event in a live planetarium show, make your own pinhole viewer in a Junior Docent–led workshop, practice looking at the Sun safely through a solar telescope, sit for a unique solar and/or lunar face painting by Agostino Arts, and more at the Hudson River Museum.
A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. Though Yonkers is not in the path of totality, we will experience 91% eclipse coverage.
Schedule:
12–4pm — Family Science Workshop: Eclipse Pinhole Viewer
12:30pm — Planetarium Show: Moonbase: The Next Step
1–4pm — Face Painting with Agostino Arts
2pm — Planetarium Show: The Sky Tonight
3:30pm — Planetarium Show: Moonbase: The Next Step
