The Swedish Grammy (Grammis)-winning Lena Jonsson Trio will perform at the Ashokan Center. Lena Jonsson is an innovative and charismatic fiddler accompanied by Ian Carr on guitar and Krydda Sundström on bass. This tight ensemble evokes a breadth of Swedish folk music with inspirations also from rock, pop, and old-time American and Bluegrass traditions.

The band’s “Stories from the Outside” was named Album of the Year by Lira Musikmagasin in 2020, and it won the Manifest prize and a Swedish Grammy (Grammis) in 2021. In 2023, the Lena Jonsson Trio was Folk and World Music awards Artist of the Year. Their most recent album “Elements” was released in 2023.
