Hidden in Plain Sight (Parents Workshop)
Saint Joseph’s Medical Center of Yonkers and the Maxwell Institute of Tuckahoe hosts a program for parents on how to identify hidden references and paraphernalia that could indicate a teen’s drug or alcohol use. The program will feature a replica of a teen’s bedroom that will test your knowledge and strength your observational skills. The replica of an adolescent’s bedroom is set up with common items teens use to hide drug paraphernalia. The interactive program is presented by Lillian Neuman, CASAC, Director of Outreach and Prevention Education for The Maxwell Institute, which is part of Saint Joseph’s Medical Center.
Doors open at 6:30 pm. The event is free. Preregistration is required. To RSVP visit www.saintjosephs.org/about-us/event/hidden-in-plain-sight
Maxwell also offers community education services, which include:
- Free presentations to school and community groups on topics such as: the dangers of vaping and marijuana use, cottage talks, and adjustment to college life.
- Free virtual training on the use of naloxone overdose rescue kits is offered on the third Thursday of the month via Zoom. These programs are presented by Lillian Neuman, CASAC, Director of Outreach and Prevention Education. To register, email ssal@drugcrisisinourbackyard.com.
