Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the B&O Railroad Museum, recently dedicated as a Network to Freedom Underground Railroad Site. The museum will have special programming exploring the concept of freedom on Sunday, Jan. 16 and Monday, Jan. 17, including kid-focused educational activities. These events are included with the price of admission.
The full schedule of events for Sunday and Monday are as follows:
Sunday, January 16
- 11:30am: Train Ride
- 12-2pm: Kids Activity in Roundhouse
- 1pm: Train Ride
- 2-2:15pm: Introductions: Kris Hoellen & Rev. Montgomery from Union Baptist
- 2:15 -2:30pm: Brief history of UGRR and B&O
- 2:30-3:15pm: Choir Recital and Youth Readings
- 3-4pm: Kids Activity in Roundhouse resumes
- 3:15-3:45pm: “From Slavery to Civil Rights” Public Tour
Monday, January 17
- 10am -12pm: Kids Activity in Roundhouse
- 12pm: Train Ride
- 1-1:30pm: “From Slavery to Civil Rights” Junior Tour
