Line up for author/illustrator Susan Stockdale’s presentation of her new picture book, Line Up! Animals in Remarkable Rows. Susan will read and briefly demonstrate how she researched, wrote, and illustrated her book in a visual presentation, perfect for the whole family.

Attendees will learn how and why animals around the world line up, just as children do at school regularly. A book signing will follow.The event includes a FREE raffle for a signed, full-color giclee print of one of Susan’s beautiful book paintings and line art of a Line Up! book illustration for children to color at home.

East City Bookshop will have books available for sale and signing. 

For in-person attendance, all attendees must be vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Susan Stockdale is the author and illustrator of many picture books that celebrate nature. Her books, including Bring On the Birds, Stripes of All Types, and Fabulous Fishes have won a variety of awards including the ALSC Notable Picture Book, NSTA Outstanding Science Trade Book for Students K-12, and the Bank Street College of Education Best Children’s Books of the Year. Her engaging rhymes and vibrant illustrations elicit praise. The Washington Post wrote, “If the paintings are the feast, Stockdale’s words are the dessert.” She lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
