If you're up for an Alaskan adventure with kids, Anchorage is a great city to visit. Because it's a big city with an international airport, Anchorage is relatively easy to get to (flight time and time change from the East Coast not withstanding). There are also so many fun things to do in Anchorage with kids.

After enjoying my own family vacation in Anchorage, I've put together a list of kid-friendly things to do in Anchorage. It includes outdoor Anchorage activities for kids, museums and other indoor Anchorage attractions for families, day trips from Anchorage with kids, and kid-friendly Anchorage hotels and restaurants.

From DC harvest festivals that last all of October (and parts of September and November) to daylong or weekend events that celebrate food, culture, and art, these amazing family fall festivals have so much to offer. There are pumpkins and apples, crafts, carnival rides, games, live music, and so much more.

We jump into fall this month, and with the start of September comes harvest fairs, pumpkin festivals, and other fall festivals across our area.

There are also some fun and unique events happening throughout the month, such as the Kensington Train Show, Homecoming at President Lincoln's Cottage, and the Clemyjontri Park Open House. And you won't want to miss two new shows—The Very Hungry Caterpillar at Imagination Stage and Cirque du Soleil: Luzia in Tysons Corner!

Looking for the best things to do in DC this Labor Day weekend with kids? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list for this weekend.

There are so many fun ways to celebrate Labor Day weekend with kids across the DC area. The Virginia Scottish Games & Festival is happening this weekend, as are free Labor Day parades in Gaithersburg and Kensington.

Ready for fall? The Gaver Farm Fall Fun Fest and the Great Country Farms Corn Maze and Apple Harvest kick off this weekend! But if you're still clinging to summer, take one last visit to an outdoor water park or a free public swimming pool. It's also your last chance to try your hand at Putt Across America at the Wharf.

Summer is not over yet! August in DC is full of some of our area's most anticipated events, as well as other family-friendly activities to close out the season.

August is county fair season across the DC region! Whether it's the Fairfax County 4-H Fair and Carnival, the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair, the Prince William County Fair, or one of the others, kids can enjoy classic rides, games, funnel cake, and more.

The One Loudoun Carnival is also this month, as is the DC Water Lantern Festival at National Harbor. And the popular Maryland Renaissance Festival kicks off in late August.

Looking for the best things to do in DC this Fourth of July weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list for this weekend.

It’s 4th of July weekend, and there's no better place to celebrate than our nation's capital. This year, the holiday falls on a Friday and we have a big list of festivities for families to enjoy leading into the weekend, as well as the best places to watch the DC fireworks.

Read on for all of the classic July 4th events going on and choose how to celebrate. When you're done with all the fireworks and parades, you can watch Frog Prince at Glen Echo Park or play putt-putt at Swingers Dupont Circle (Family Days are normally Sundays, but they added one on July 4th this year). There's also a fun pop-up this weekend in DC: The Chocolatey Dynamite Dinosaurs Frostology Lab.
