Our November GoList lights up three times this weekend in NYC! On Saturday, the Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden whistles into town with a replica-filled toy train extravaganza, and double levitation master Jason Bishop begins a run at the New Victory Theater with his latest show, Straight-Up Magic. All weekend, the Museum of the City of New York holds its activity-stuffed Gotham Groove celebration.
The New York Botanical Garden isn’t the only model train gig in town; Grand Central launched its own train show earlier this week. Plus, if you’re looking to double up on the pre-holiday activities, head for one of the tree lightings that begin this weekend.
Also, don’t forget to plan out that visit by relatives with our Thanksgiving Events Guide, including turkey day meals at these NYC restaurants, and our handy Visitors Guide. Be sure to read our Insider's Guide to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for all the info on the new balloons and when and where to see them, including the option to go the night before to the FREE outdoor inflation. Or spend your Thanksgiving (or weekend) giving back with one of these family volunteer options.
Don't forget to book those holiday shows, too. We just released our guide to the best holiday children's theater around the city, including Rudolph, Dickens, and even Charlie Brown. Also, there are limited tickets left to the Mommy Poppins Readers' Night at the New Victory Theater for a special showing of the dazzling and acrobatic Mother Africa: My Home. When the discounted tickets are gone, that's it!
