Weekend Fun for Philly Kids: Trains, Birds, Performances January 7-8

Things to do with kids in Philadelphia, Winter Family Events

The first full weekend of January brings much excitement, adventure, and education to Philly families. Our events calendar is filled with train fun, outdoor exploration, and even a bit of remaining Christmas magic.

For the train enthusiasts, both the Schuylkill Valley Model Railroad Club and the Brandywine River Museum have their train garden displays on view. Fans of chilly, winter temperatures can get outside to count birds at the annual Winter Bird Count at the Conservancy Cottage or take a hike throughout the grounds at Wolf's Hollow County Park or Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education. Die-hard Christmas fans can soak up the last remaining Christmas fun by seeing the Holiday Lights at Shady Brook Farms, watching The Media Theatre's A Christmas Story- The Musical, or visiting A Longwood Christmas or Yuletide at Winterthur as they all conclude for the season this weekend.

Stay updated by following us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. Now, keep reading to find all the fun that awaits this weekend.
